This team is capable of a good performance – After a string of underwhelming performances fans were left doubting whether the team could actually produce anything better. Against Liverpool, United were up for it and that was reflected in the way the team played…..but professionals can’t pick and choose when to turn up. They’ve set the standard for effort levels and commitment, and need to show this intensity in EVERY game.

Pereira is not a winger – He had a good match playing in the false 9 position. Showing good energy and led the press. He was far more effective in this position than he has been in other games this season. If he makes the starting 11, a position behind the strikers is where he should start.

Lindelof is not robust enough – At times in games he looks lightweight, especially when left one on one with strikers. There was another example in the game against Liverpool when up against Mane. Mane was able to out muscle him far too easily, fortunately the goal was ruled out. Although Lindelof is a good ball player he is not commanding enough. Tuanzebe seems like the long term solution at Centre Back.

Ole showed tactical inexperience – Ole changed the formation for this game to good effect. But deep into the second half, with our midfield tiring, he could have closed the game out by bringing fresh legs into the midfield. Liverpool brought on 3 midfielders against our midfield that had laboured hard for 70 mins. Ole must learn to use his substitutions wisely, grind out games, and convert draws into victories.

Matic is finished at United – The big Serb didn’t even make the bench in a squad that’s ravaged by injury and down to the bare bones. It’s unlikely he’ll start any more games. Another one to be shown the door by Ole.
